The hand painted process

All hand painted Yolanda Lorente Garments start out as a pure white silk or solid color canvas. The appropriate amount of silk yardage is cut for each outfit and sent to our artists to paint the fabric.

This is Yolanda’s dye lab. All our dyes are made in small batches and mixed specifically for each painting when it is ordered. This process has been perfected by many years of research and experience.
Each artist hired at Yolanda Lorente has a background rich in art education and real world experience. Yolanda then trains each artist personally in the skill of painting on silk. The artist, over years, develops his or her own method and techniques for painting. Here you can see an artist hard at work on one of Yolanda’s designs. Although paintings are recreated over and over again no two paintings are ever identical. You can truly say that each fabric is a unique piece of individual art.
After the fabric has been painted and steam finished to make the dyes colorfast, it is brought back to our cutting and sewing floor. Each ensemble is cut by hand by highly skilled European artisans. Our garments are then sewn together and finished to the highest quality standards. The entire finished product is proudly made in the U.S.A. The results of all this hard work are beautiful clothes for fashionable women.
